Welcome and thanks for taking the time to surf my site. As you probably already know, my name is Ryan E. Hulse. I was born in New Jersey and grew up in the beautiful township of Jackson, NJ (aka the Gateway to the Jersey Shore). It is here that I began my journey into the brilliant world of visual arts. Growing up, I have always had an artistic flair. From expressing artistic visions via crayons on the walls of my home, to the elaborate creations of Lego worlds built from memory, I’ve always enjoyed expressing my creativity through various mediums from young age.

While attending Jackson Memorial High School, I took my first Graphics Communications class and that’s when I got sucked into the world of graphics and photography. I owe a lot of my success to my high school teachers, Mr. “Bud” McCormick, Mr. Taylor and Mrs. Gagliano. In many ways, they were my mentors and aided me in launching my career in visual arts.

I went on to attend college at Franklin Pierce University (FPU) in Rindge, NH where I studied Graphic Communications. While there, I was able to really delve into the fundamentals of photography and graphic design. My professors, as well as my peers, at FPU encouraged me to continue with my artistic endeavors. Professors Jay Hill, Rob Diercks, Richard Block and Al Karevy were extremely supportive of my talents and creatively molded brain during my years at FPU.

Once I received my degree in Graphic Communications, I started to work for Franklin Pierce University in the Marketing and Communications office. There, I was able to obtain my M.B.A. and provide the university with a plethora of designs, photographs and marketing materials which some are still in use today.

Throughout my educational pursuit, I held a few positions that are worthy of note. Beginning in high school, I worked as a henna tattoo artist at the famous Six Flags Great Adventure. Nothing is more exciting to an artist then a blank canvas of human skin. During the summer, entering my senior year of college, I landed an amazing internship at Madison Square Garden in New York City. There I assisted with capturing the moments of various sporting events for teams such as the New York Rangers and various concerts. Learning from and working with some of the best photographers in the industry, George Kalinsky and Rebecca Taylor, it was a great experience and I met some wonderful people along the way too. (Not to mention a few celebrities!)

After my years of schooling, it was time to dig more into a career. I moved on up to Boston, MA and landed a job as an Ophthalmic Photographer, (took beautiful pictures of pathologies both on the in and outside of eyes! Gross, I know!) at the New England Eye Center at Tufts Medical Center. It was here I began to grow and see my potential in marketing and design. After some time at Tufts, I moved onto another position with US Foods as the Northeast Regional Marketing Specialist. Here, I have been mixing together all of my past experiences in photography, graphic design, marketing, social media, internal and external communications, web design and both digital and print media to create out-of-the-box marketing strategies to increase customer acquisition and retention.

This all brings me to now. I am still living in Boston, MA. and I’m open to all photography, graphic design and marketing opportunities that might be waiting out there for me.
